“Bhagat Singh’s heroism across religious political and
national boundaries”
Bhagat Singh is accepted by Hindus, Muslims,
Communists and pro-Hindu organization and most
surprisingly across India and Pakistan.
This was revealed by News India Editor-in- Chief Sanjay
Sharma while addressing students of Chandwaji-based
NIMS University. Students gathered to observe
martyrdom day of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev.
The programme to observe the martyrdom day was held
in collaboration between News India channel and NIMS
University.
Chief guest registrar Prem Singh told students that
patriotism is not adhering to symbols alone but honestly
performing duties towards fellow human beings and
respecting law.
Mr Sharma said one must understand the intellectual
depth of Bhagat Singh who wanted the system to work
for the 90 per cent of humanity, not for ten per cent
alone.

The editor-in- chief revealed that a section of people in
Pakistan has been fighting for naming the Shadman
Chowk in Lahore after Shaheed Bhagat Singh. It is
believed that Shadman Chowk was the place where the
hanging of the three freedom fighters took place. It was
then part of the Lahore jail.
Mahendra Kumar Verma, vice Principal of paramedical
college of NIMS, proposed a vote of thanks.
Students showed a documentary on the life of martyrs.
A student Itra conducted the function.
