Anti-Ragging Seminar by Nims Dental College and Hospital

Nims Dental College & Hospital, affiliated with Nims University, Rajasthan, Jaipur had organized a seminar on “CURBING THE MENACE OF RAGGING IN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS” on 16^thJanuary 2019, at 01:00 PM, Rajeshwari Auditorium, Nims University, Rajasthan, Jaipur, as per requirement of Dental Council of India.Dr.VikasJeph, President, Rajasthan State Dental Council & Member, Dental Council of India was the resource person for the seminar.

The seminar was attended by Dr. P.N. Dogra, Vice Chancellor, Nims University, Dr. Sunil Sharma, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Nims University,Dr. S. K. Garg, Registrar, Nims University Rajasthan, Jaipur, Dr. Chaman Ram Verma, Dean Medical & Allied Sciences,  Dr. Mridula Trehan, Principal, Nims Dental College, Nims Medical College Senior Faculty members, Dr. R. S Verma, Proctor, Nims University, Wardens, Anti- Ragging committee members, all Head of Departments of Nims Dental College, Faculty members and Post-graduate, Under-graduate students.

Nims Dental College & Hospital has appointed Convener, Dr. Amrita Bhatia, Reader, Department of Prosthodontics appointed as per regulations of DCI to coordinate with all BDS &MDS students to obtain & file undertaking of anti-ragging in the online portal. The college has also appointed councilorsas per DCI regulations, Dr. Jitender Khetan, Reader, Dept of Prosthodontics, Dr. Aastha Arora, Senior Lecturer, Dept of Conservative & Endodontics for regular sensitization, counseling students and monitoring ragging related activities.

The seminar started with welcoming all the guests with afloral bouquet. Dr. MridulaTrehan, introduced the resource person Dr.VikasJeph, to the audience. Dr. Vikas Jeph spoke extensively on the role of Dental Council of India in controlling and monitoring ragging issues in the educational institutions. Dr. Jeph explained and defined the ragging in institutions, punishment in case of reported cases of ragging, prevention of ragging and reporting of ragging cases to the audience.The program concluded with, felicitation of theguest speaker witha memento, avote of thanks by Dr. S. K. Garg, Registrar, Nims University Rajasthan, Jaipur.
