Seminar by Sexual Harassment Committee

NIMS University sexual harassment committee in the campus has held an awareness session.
The chairman of the committee Brigadier Dr Kamlesh Singh asked “Women in the organization and students not to tolerate what appears a case of sexual harassment and report it.”
Exposing such efforts discourages those preying on women, she said.
Brigadier Kamlesh Singh said the law under Vishakha guidelines laid down by the Supreme Court is very tough on those who indulge in activities that sexually harass women at work place.
Guidelines after the gangrape of Nirbhaya in Delhi were tightened on the basis of recommendations of Justice JS Verma. Women have a lot of backing after the Verma committee recommendations were accepted.
Srishti Agrawal proposed a vote of thanks. The programme was conducted by Renu Sharma. Women staff and students attended the programme.
The Jaipur-based NIMS University near Chandwaji is on the Jaipur-Delhi highway. It has students from 25 nationalities and offers 500 plus courses. It is led by a Harvard alumni medical professional and professor Doctor Balvir S. Tomar.
